As announced, the LWRA is sponsoring Boat Parade in place of Fun Day this year. We invite all to participate on Saturday August 1 (rain date: Sunday August 2). At 5pm head out from your dock in your parade float and follow your shoreline clockwise around your lake. To be clear: you do not have to move your boat to another lake -- each lake will feature their own parade.
Watch your wake -- 10kph max speed, no passing the float ahead!
Dress up your boat or your passengers or both! There will be prizes in the categories of "Cutest", "Funniest", and "Most Elaborate". First place in each category wins a $60 gift certificate from the Huntsville BIA, good at over 150 downtown stores and services. Runners up in each category will receive a $40 gift certificate. To enter, e-mail a photo or two of your parade float to parade@lwra.net. Include your name and cottage address. Photos of entries (without personally identifying information) will be posted to our website unless otherwise specified.
So crank up your imaginations and break out the crepe paper and duct tape! Or settle into a Muskoka chair on your dock and enjoy the show.
