Our first attempt at a spring roadside clean-up generated both enthusiasm and results.
Fifteen volunteers in different groups collected roadside litter along Jingo Lake Road, North Waseosa Lake Road, parts of South Waseosa Lake Road, Ripple & Palette Lake Road, Ripple Lane, and Hunts Road. We estimate a total of 13 full bags of litter and recycling was collected. Neighbours noted that the roadsides already appeared in better shape than a month ago, as (1) foliage has covered some areas, (2) some residents have cleaned up their own roadsides, and (3) the street sweepers scooped away some litter as they scooped up sand.
