EXPLANATION OF THE PURPOSE AND EFFECT OF THE ZONING BY-LAW

2009-10P (Camp Huronda)

The zoning has changed on lands located on Part of Lots 10 and 11, Concession 10, Geographic Township of Chaffey.  The zoning of the property changed from Rural Two (RU2) and Institutional Camp (CS3) Zones to Rural Two (RU2) and Institutional Camp (CS3) Zones with exceptions to permit the enlargement of 3 existing cabins located within 30m of the shoreline, to permit the construction of a new septic system within 29m of the shoreline, to limit the shoreline activity areas to the existing locations, and to tie the waterfront lot and the back lot (which contains parking facilities) together for development purposes.  The only permitted uses on the back lot are a parking area, a work area and an outdoor trail system.  The amendment permits the redevelopment of the existing institutional camp.

The subject lands are located at 1252 South Waseosa Lake Road, on Lake Waseosa, in the Town of Huntsville.
