Although Viola spent her life helping and caring for others she also loved to travel. She enjoyed her waterfront home, paddling her canoe and gifting her family and friends with her beautiful handwork of knitting, crocheting, tatting and quilting. She also played the piano and organ for local churches.

Due to failing health Viola was admitted to Muskoka Landing in 2004.
